This green leather notebook contains diverse notes on geology of Perthshire, London, and Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, and proceedings likely of the Geological Society of London. Starts with the inclusion of a poem by Thomas Moore. The index also appears to feature the first mention to Hamilton Couper by Lyell, who notes his paper. The index is written on the final three pages of the notebook, the front and back covers are blank.
